In this blog I will discuss chocolate bars and other candies as I interact with them. My format will be texture, flavors, where I got it, packaging, and if I plan on getting it again.
When I was very young, I had an extremely adverse reaction to a piece of chocolate and because of that I didn't touch the stuff until I was almost 14 years old. I went to an allergist and they said I had outgrown my allergy and so the first thing I did after we left the doctors office was to stop at a gas station and I bought a Hershey bar. I spent the next year eating all the different chocolate I could get my hands on. I have eased off since then, but I still love trying new chocolate bars. I came to the conclusion that I couldn't keep track of all the different stuff that I have tried so I needed to write it down or type it up... thus this blog is born.
On to the chocolate... Yesterday I had a Chocolove dark chocolate with candied ginger. I got it at the Earth Fair on Cherry rd, after a kinda bad day at work.
The outer wrapper was an olive green paper with a gold seal embossed on the outside and a poem on the inside. The inner layer is a gold foil wrapper and quite frankly the wrappers for this brand of chocolate are a delight to open
The bar its self was a 65% dark. It felt smooth and almost cool in my mouth. The chunks of ginger were well distributed in the bar and they were large enough for me to occasionally get a very nice burst of flavor. It was a good cure for one of my off days, but I'm not sure that I want to get it again... the flavors in the dark chocolate overwhelmed the ginger and made it taste almost woody and a little dirty... I'm not sure that I will buy it again, but it's not a chocolate bar I would turn down if someone gave it to me.
All in all not a bad bar, I'm just not thrilled over it.
